1. カテゴリーが大きく影響
すべての I-130 申請が同じスピードで進むわけではありません。処理期間は、家族関係のカテゴリーによって大きく異なります。
米国市民の直系親族(配偶者、親、21歳未満の未婚の子) プリファレンス・カテゴリー(成人した子、兄弟姉妹、永住権保持者の配偶者)直系親族は年間のビザ上限の対象外であるため、全体的に早く進む傾向があります。一方、プリファレンス・カテゴリーでは、I-130 が承認された後でも、ビザの滞留により長期間待たされることがあります。
