FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- RIDGEWOOD, New Jersey – Lawyers at the NPZ Law Group continue to be actively involved in the The American Immigration Lawyer’s Association (AILA) both at a State and National Level.
This week, David Nachman, Esq. and Snehal Batra, Esq. from the NPZ Law Group are attending the national immigration lawyers conference in San Francisco California.
It was announced there that AILA has filed challenges to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ (USCIS) failure to respond to two FOIA requests asking for records that would explain increased scrutiny and denials of H-1B petitions.
We are concerned that USCIS had adopted new adjudication standards without informing the public. The requests ask for records relating to USCIS’s consideration of evidence demonstrating an occupation’s “prevailing wage,” as well as records relating to USCIS’s determination of whether a position is a “specialty occupation.”
