EB-1(a) - Extraordinary Ability
The EB1-1 Extraordinary Ability visa/green card classification is used by foreign nationals who have extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics. This classification is awarded to a small percentage of people who have risen to the top of their profession.
To qualify for an EB1-1 Extraordinary Ability visa/green card, the applicant must show extensive documentation, such as:
- authorship of scholarly articles;
- receipt of nationally or internationally recognized prizes or awards ;
- membership in associations in the applicant's field that demand outstanding achievement of their members;
- evidence of the alien's original contributions of major significance to the field.
