On Friday, May 13, 2022, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) published two new forms: Form I-956, Application for Regional Center Designation, and I-956H, Bona Fides of Persons Involved with Regional Center Program

Effective Feb. 8, 2022, USCIS has stopped applying 2 rules:

1. The Removal of 30-day Processing Provision for Asylum Applicant-Related Form I-765 Employment Authorization Applications Rule (also known as the Timeline Repeal Rule); and

2. The Asylum Application, Interview, and Employment Authorization for Applicants Rule (also known as the Asylum EAD Rule).

How can an entity become a regional center?

Entities seeking to be designated as a regional center are required to file Form I-956, Application for Regional Center Designation. USCIS will be publishing this new form, including the form instructions, with additional information regarding the filing process by May 14, 2022.
