学生ビザに関する新しいガイドライン ~早期の申請が可能に!~


アメリカ国務省は最近、FビザとMビザの学生ビザのガイドラインについて変更を発表しました。2023年2月23日から、学生はプログラム開始日の365日前からビザの申請を行うことができるようになりました。以前の120日前という制限が大幅に改善されました。ビザ申請プロセスに必要なI-20フォームもプログラム開始日の12〜14ヶ月前に発行されるようになり学生に十分な準備時間を提供します。

学生ビザを取得するにはいくつかの手順に従う必要があります。

まず申請者はStudent and Exchange Visitor Program(SEVP)によって承認された資格を持つアメリカの学校または大学に入学する必要があります。入学が承認された後、学生はStudent and Exchange Visitor Information System(SEVIS)に登録するための料金を支払い、被扶養者を含め、個々に別々のI-20フォームを取得する必要があります。

I-20フォームを取得した後、学生はDS-160フォーム(オンライン非移民ビザ申請書)を完成させ、払い戻し不可能なビザ申請料を支払わなければなりません。プログラム開始日の365日以内になると、オンラインにログインしてビザの予約をすることができます。

ビザ申請プロセス中、学生と被扶養者は、米国大使館または領事館で面接を受ける必要がある場合があります。面接職員によって申請者が学生ビザの取得の資格があると判断した場合、指紋スキャンをし申請者のパスポートにビザスタンプを押します。申請者はその後ビザスタンプが付いたパスポートを郵送で受け取るか、受け取りに行きます。
