New USCIS Payment Option: Direct Debit via Form G-1650

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced a new and secure way to pay filing fees.

Effective immediately (August 29, 2025): Applicants and petitioners can authorize direct debit (ACH) payments from a U.S. bank account by filing Form G-1650, Authorization for ACH Transactions, with their applications, petitions, or requests.

This update reduces processing delays and risks tied to checks and money orders, while aligning with federal payment modernization initiatives.

Key Details:

  • Now Available: ACH direct debit via Form G-1650.
  • Also Accepted: Credit card payments using Form G-1450 (prepaid cards allowed).
  • Transition Period:
    • Until October 28, 2025, USCIS will accept checks, money orders, ACH, and credit cards.
    • After October 28, 2025, only ACH debit (Form G-1650) and credit cards (Form G-1450) will be accepted.
  • Important Reminder: Applications may be rejected if sufficient funds are not available at the time of transaction.

USCIS has also updated its Policy Manual to reflect ACH debit transactions as an official payment method.

If you are preparing to file, ensure you use an accepted payment method. For guidance, please contact our office at 201-670-0006.
