On July 4, 2025, President Trump signed the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” ushering in the most sweeping immigration fee increases in years. The law impacts asylum seekers, parolees, TPS applicants, and more, with many fees becoming effective immediately.
Key highlights include:
- $100 for asylum applications (plus $100 annual renewal)
- $550 for initial EADs for asylum, parole, and TPS applicants
- $1,500 to adjust status in immigration court
- $5,000 penalty for inadmissible individuals arrested between ports of entry
- $900 fees for immigration-related appeals
Most fees are non-waivable and will increase annually with inflation. Immigration court filings and appeals are now also subject to specific fees, making legal preparation more important than ever.
