As of July 5th, 2021 at 11:59 PM EDT, Canadian citizens, permanent residents and other eligible travellers who are entitled to enter Canada will be able to do so without quarantining, provided they have received all required doses of their COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before their travel.
These fully vaccinated travellers will be exempt from staying at a government-authorized hotel, quarantining for 14 days and from taking a COVID-19 test upon their 8th day in Canada. The travellers will still be required to present a pre-departure to Canada test and take a COVID-19 test upon arrival into Canada.
Travellers will submit proof of vaccine via the ArriveCAN app, and the app will be able to verify the information. Travellers will also have to carry with them the documentation to demonstrate they are vaccinated. A certified translation will need to accompany any documentation not in English or French.
Currently, only those vaccinated with Government of Canada approved vaccinations (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca/COVIDSHIELD and Johnson & Johnson) will be considered for this exemption.
Travellers who are not fully vaccinated remain subject to pre-departure and arrival tests, as well as the mandatory government-approved accommodation stay, a test on day 8 and 14 days of quarantine.
Non-vaccinated children under 18 or dependent adults who are travelling with their fully-vaccinated parents must isolate upon their entry to Canada, but do not have to stay at government-approved accommodation.
All travellers will have to identity their vaccination status on the ArriveCAN app
