Important: Who Must Register under the new Immigration Registration process?

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has reinforced the legal requirement for non-U.S. citizens to register under Section 262 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) (8 U.S.C. 1302). Failure to comply may result in civil and criminal penalties.

Who Needs to Register?

  • Non-U.S. citizens 14 years or older who were not fingerprinted or registered when applying for a visa and who remain in the U.S. for 30 days or longer
  • Parents or legal guardians of Non-U.S. citizens children under 14 must register them
  • Non-U.S. citizens Children turning 14 must re-register and be fingerprinted within 30 days of their birthday
  • Individuals without prior registration (e.g., those who entered without inspection or Canadian visitors without an I-94)

Who is Already Registered?

✔ Lawful Permanent Residents (Green Card holders)

✔ Individuals issued visas before their last arrival

✔ Those in removal proceedings or granted employment authorization

✔ Visitors with Form I-94/I-94W from DHS upon entry

How to Register:

  • Create a USCIS Online Account and submit Form G-325R
  • Attend biometric appointment (if required)
  • Download your USCIS registration proof

Failure to register may lead to misdemeanor charges, fines up to $5,000, or imprisonment.
