USCIS Unveils Employment Authorization Guidelines for Palestinians Eligible Under Deferred Enforced Departure

he U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has released a Federal Register notice detailing the application process for Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) for Palestinians covered under Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) until August 13, 2025. This follows President Biden’s memorandum, which defers the removal of certain Palestinians present in the U.S. as of February 14, 2024, and directs enhanced employment and educational support for eligible individuals. Palestinians must apply using Form I-765, and details on application criteria and procedures can be found in the Federal Register. Additional support measures include Special Student Relief for Palestinian F-1 students, allowing them to work more hours and reduce course loads while maintaining their status.
