Canada has implemented enhanced border measures for travelers arriving from Southern Africa in response to Omicron variant, until January 31, 2022. This region includes South Africa, Eswatini, Lesotho, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Namibia. There are no direct flights between Canada and Southern African countries till further announcement.
Foreign Nationals who have travelled to Southern Africa region within the previous 14 days will not be permitted to enter Canada. For Canadian citizens, permanent residents and individuals with status under the Indian Act, will have to go through enhanced testing, screening and vigorous quarantine measures.
