Canada Border Service Agency (“CBSA”) recently announced the continuation of nonessential travel restrictions between Canada and USA through May 21st, 2020. Any traveler planning to cross the border for tourism, recreation and entertainment are not allowed.
Canada continues to allow essential travel into Canada which include individuals with study permit issued on or before March 18th, 2020 or with a valid work permit or a port of entry letter of introduction showing approval of work permit. The supply chain between the two countries are considered “essential” to ensure food, fuel and life-saving medicine to flow uninterrupted between the countries.
Upon crossing the border, all travelers must have quarantine or an isolation plan in place except for “essential” workers that include truck driver and health care workers. We will continue to keep our readers informed with any further updates.
